Dr. Jeffrey Rubin
DVM
Dr. Rubin is a native of Long Island New York. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree of science in exercise physiology in 2003 from State University of New York at Cortland. He went on to Florida International University where he completed his master’s degree in exercise physiology and sports sciences in 2005.
Dr Rubin’s career was headed in one direction but changed paths during this time, when he was enrolled in a class called exercise test technology where he became so enamored with everything regarding the heart. He decided to abandon his plan of being a strength and conditioning coach and pursue a career in medicine. Combining his interest in medicine and his love of animals, it only made sense to join the field of veterinary medicine.
Dr. Rubin graduated from St Georges University in 2011 after completing a clinical year at Louisiana State University. After two years of practicing veterinary medicine in upstate New York, he decided to pursue opportunities in warmer weather and locations closer to Mickey Mouse. Dr. Rubin settled in Central Florida, where he has been practicing for the last 10 years at hospitals in Sanford, Daytona and Deltona.
Dr. Rubin is happy to be back in Sanford where he was awarded “best Veterinarian of Sanford in 2018” at a former practice. In his free time, he can be found watching all New York sport teams or at Disney world with his wife, Jessica and their daughter Riley. Dr. Rubin’s family has four dogs and a cat. Three of their dogs started out as Dr. Rubin’s patients, that he later took in when their owners could no longer care for them.
In addition to building relationships with pets and their families, Dr. Rubin has a strong interest in veterinary dermatology, internal medicine, surgery and caring for the unique needs of senior patients.
